Instead of a singular and inward-looking design, we propose an expansive catalog of compositions as a system for design collaboration to distill aesthetic sensibilities through a filter of simple logic that can unify objects, structures, and spaces–and, therefore, countless spatial experiences–under one overarching design process.
These Constructs are experimental forms designed using a strict set of logic and loosely defined aesthetic constraints–leading up to a simultaneously rigorous and playful process. That is to say that the constructs are imbued with a series of dichotomies or contradictions: they are both scaled and scaleless, interactive and static, perceptual frames and subjects of attention. These constructs are whimsically repetitive, all sharing the same DNA. Rigorously procedural yet detached from aesthetic agendas, the family of space-objects can respond to multiple settings, environments, and scales while maintaining a sense of familiarity.
